Cosplay Organization

One of my fears has come true. I did a cosplay photoshoot and forgot a piece of my cosplay. Fortunately, it’s a very minor piece, and I honestly didn’t notice it was missing from the photos until 2 months later. I forgot to wear my blue choker in my Pokemon Go Trainer photos.

Though it’s not a big deal this time around, it is something I am always worried about when wearing cosplay. Every time I go to an out-of-town convention, I start having “did-I-forget-anything” paranoia. Forgetting a cosplay piece is not the same as forgetting something in a normal trip. I mean, if you forget your toothbrush, you can buy another one. You can’t just go out and buy a missing cosplay piece, especially one that you’ve custom-made.

Recap: February 2017

February was both a stressful and productive month, which consisted of a few late work days due to emergency hotfixes. (Yay for being able to work from home and do a production deploy from my couch.) On the bright side, my teams released with a few large features, so it was great to see everyone’s hard work out there. I also took one of my teams out for a team outing, and that was a good stress reliever!

And of course, February is known for Valentine’s Day. This year I baked heart-shaped mint chocolate chip cookies for my coworkers, and I bought heart macarons for me and my husband from our favorite bakery 🙂 We also bought some marbled beef rib, which my husband cooked into gyudon (beef rice bowl). Aahh, we love donburi (rice bowls) so much.

I’ve been productive with my hobbies too. On the photography side, I finished post processing my last photoshoot from a recent Anime convention, which was a Code Geass one:

My Favorite Things: February 2017

I’ve been having trouble finishing a few blog drafts lately, but then I remembered that I haven’t written about recent favorites yet this year. Since I skipped it last month, this will cover things I’ve been loving the past couple of months!

Movie: Moana

I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a Disney musical movie this much. Moana was such a fun and beautiful movie to watch. I loved watching her journey, and the music, oh man the music. The past month or so, I’ve been addicted to its soundtrack, especially We Know The Way, How Far I’ll Go, Where You Are, and I Am Moana.

As much as I appreciate female characters fighting against stereotypes, it’s also nice when they’re just not there to begin with? No one questioned that Moana would be the next chief or tried to marry her off, everyone was forbidden from leaving the island (not just Moana), and Maui underestimated her because she was mortal, not because of her gender. Seriously, finally.
